Rudy Colacicco

Senior Economist

Rudy Colacicco has more than 15 years of professional experience as an economist. After working as research fellow in economics at Maynooth University, Ireland, he joined EPPA in the late 2017.

Rudy provides economic and strategic advice to multinational companies and trade associations in several areas of European public policy. He mainly focuses on:

  • Dumping and injury assessment for EU anti-dumping protection;
  • Socio-economic analyses for REACH authorization and public consultations of restrictions for multinational companies and European associations in different sectors (e.g., pharmaceutical, medical devices and in-vitro diagnostics, industrial, chemicals, cosmetics);
  • Impact assessment for RoHS exemptions;
  • Impact assessment for classification, labelling, and packaging (CLP) Regulation of numerous pesticides, biocides, and fungicides, as well as natural and synthetic compounds;
  • Socio-economic analyses for approval of biocides under BPR derogation.
 

Rudy has been appointed as economic expert for representing European stakeholders during the Committee for Socio-Economic Analysis (SEAC) meetings at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

 

+ Ph.D. in economics from the Marche Polytechnic University, Italy, with a focus on international trade and industrial organization. He has also expertise in the economic theory of oligopoly and environmental economics.

+ Advanced Studies Certificate in International Economic Policy Research from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW), Germany.

+ M.Sc. in Economics from Marche Polytechnic University, Italy.

+ M.A. in Economic and Social Sciences from The University of Rome “Tor Vergata”, Italy.

+ Executive certificate in negotiations from Harvard Law School.

+ He was visiting researcher at Central European University (Budapest), IfW, Higher School of Economics (Saint Petersburg), and Melbourne University.
