The future PFAS restriction

Camille Dehestru, Senior Account Manager at Eppa, wrote an article on the future PFAS restriction published in the November issue of DEKRA’s REACH plus Navigator.

The forthcoming REACH restriction of non-essential uses of Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) will potentially impact an extremely broad range of uses and sectors from textile to refrigerants, automotive, cosmetics, consumer mixtures and construction products. Considering 4,700 substances are being assessed in the scoping exercise and that all uses are currently in scope, it is likely that your company could be impacted even without being aware of it, and you should feel concerned by this restriction. This article (in German) will help you understand the latest developments and next steps in the process, the substances, uses and sectors impacted, and what you can do to mitigate risks from a ban.
