Considering the importance of EU-Russian economic relations and in order to consolidate with our office in Moscow, Pavel brought EPPA’s client the required capabilities with his degrees in International Relations and in European and International Law from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO-University), MA in European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges.
He provides an interface between the European (EU) and Eurasian Economic (EAEU) Unions’ regulatory developments, helping international clients to develop a holistic vision of the risks and opportunities originating from the two trade groupings. Using EPPA methodology, he built constructive relationship with EAEU Commission and Member States decision-makers, and participated in numerous working group meetings allowing international clients to find ways to contribute to the promising EAEU market context.
In Brussels, he advises corporations on EU environmental and health legislation, ranging from REACH, Biocides, agro-chemicals, or the water framework directive to name but a few. He manages also REACH-related advisory work, using his specialist knowledge of key issues in European chemical policy making. This has helped these corporations to upgrade their strategies under REACH procedures and to gain critical experience in managing task forces; Pavel continues to assist them in negotiations with the EU institutions and Member States’ competent authorities during complex and difficult decision-making procedures.
He is fluent in English, Russian, French and has a good working knowledge of German and Latvian. He cooperates in EPPA's business school relationship development, as well as with other learning organisations.
