Julie Van Tongerloo

Julie strengthened EPPA’s team in 2020 to assist clients active mainly in the food, feed, and health sector, as well as to further diversify the organization’s areas of expertise by bringing in know-how and experience in the field of sustainability.

With previous career steps taken both in the public and private arenas, Julie possesses of a unique perspective on understanding their interdependence in policy making. The combination of her solid technical academic background with her empathy-driven communication and client focus make her a strong partner in the search for answers to the contemporary challenges on the European stage.

She holds a Master’s degree in Bioscience Engineering from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL, Belgium), a Master’s degree in European Studies from the Université catholique de Louvain-la-Neuve (UCL, Belgium), and a Master’s degree in International Business Economics & Management from EHSAL Management School (EMS, Belgium).

To further deepen her knowledge of the EU and its particularities, she immersed herself in EU Policy at the Institute for European Business Administration (Ghent, Belgium), and in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Environment (DG ENV) as a bluebook trainee working on Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs).

Julie is fluent in Dutch, French, and English, and has a good command of Spanish.
