Carlos Sokol-Szahin

Carlos joined EPPA to strengthen and expand the organization’s expertise in the areas of sustainability and climate, as well as to assist a wide range of clients in the field of EU funding.

Prior to EPPA, Carlos developed his professional career in both public and private organisations, mainly providing strategic advice on public and government affairs issues to clients in the areas of sustainability and climate, with a focus on circular economy, waste and energy. He also developed a keen interest and solid understanding of EU funding instruments, helping clients navigate successfully the always-intricate waters of this policy domain. 


Carlos combines the subject-matter expertise with his dynamic and empathy-driven communication approach, constantly encouraging out-of-the-box thinking to both clients and colleagues, aiming at identifying and finding the most adequate answers to some of the most complex questions.     


Carlos holds a Master’s degree in European Public Affairs from Maastricht University (Maastricht, The Netherlands) and a Bachelor’s degree in Political Sciences from Pompeu Fabra University (Barcelona, Spain).


Carlos is fluent in English, Spanish and Catalan, and has a basic command of French.
